Southwark Bridge, a photo from London, England

Photographer's Note

My Wife and I had 24 hours in London recently, so see a show and also to enjoy the scenery and take photos. This is one of my favourites.

Info about Southwark Bridge, from Wikipedia:
Southwark Bridge is an arch bridge for traffic linking Southwark and the City across the River Thames, in London, England. It was designed by Ernest George and Basil Mott and opened in 1921. The bridge is owned and maintained by Bridge House Estates, a charitable trust overseen by the Corporation of London.

Halfway along the bridge on the Western side is a plaque which is enscribed:

Re-built by the Bridge House Estates Committee
of the Corporation of London
1913-1921
Opened for traffic by their Majesties
King George V and Queen Mary
6th June 1921
Sir Ernest Lamb CMG, JP Chairman

what a beautiful calm scenery! :-) the thames looks like it was covered with ice and reflects

beautiful capture. So mild and soft atmosphere with excellent POV and composition. Colours are absolutely adorable. Great capture!

Hi Andy, I have some shots taken on the same day from the other side of that bridge (how bizarre). The Thames was very high that day but incredibly still. Lovely colours and reflections. It has a very light feel to it which I like.

Hello Andy,
I'm not normally a great lover of cities, London in particular, but this picture conveys an unusually calm sensation. I like the delicate pastel colours, the soft sheen on the water and the bright, airy atmosphere.
I know people have different opinions about this but I would have been tempted to remove the contrails in Photoshop (at least the most evident one).
