Photographer's Note
This was taken in Blackpool. The reason I took it is I am compiling on a series of work where you have to take a second look at why the image was first taken. What may look like a bland image at first often has another meaning that the photographer is trying to convey to the viewer. In other words do not dismiss an image until you have really analysed it to see if you can understand what is being conveyed.
In this example it struck me that you have a telescope looking out to see, yet there is nothing to see except the sea! It struck me that it is such a odd thing to have.

Great picture. I've been in Blackpool a few times but unfortunately I wasn't into photography yet. It's a decadent, fascinating and inspiring place for taking photographs.
This picture is great, I have nothing to say about it, all is good about it. Maybe the horizon isn't perfectly straight or is it just a bit distorted. And thank you for the note!

Hello Mark,
Simple but interesting composition with bands of colour and the geometric lines. Is it to look at the topless bathers (but, surely not in Blackpool) or ships passing at sea? Whatever, very pleasing image.

Welcome to TE Mark.
I like your idea about the telescope expressed in the image and the theme of your note. I think you will develop many ideas on your theme from Trekearther feedback.
I personally like the sea to be level so I have sent a workshop and hope you agree.
Best wishes
David

An even odder thing is that people pay to look through it. But it does look rather enticing, and that's what's I like about the picture.

Ah!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE this, Mark! :-)))
Fantastic catch. Excellent work, delightful to see this telescope, blue almost like that of the sea... and you can see it even closer! :)))
Brilliant capture, minimalist in style but very witty in content.

I really like this one, Mark. You did well to see it in the first place, and then really well in the capture.
A good example of the oft repeated advice that there are great pictures all around if you simply know how to look. Looks like you know how to look :-)

Hi Mark
But there are many ships in the sea and one can observe them :). Nice composition and colours.
