Photographer's Note
Corfe Castle and surrounding countryside.
The castle dates back to the 11th century, the construction beginning with William the Conqueror. It remained as a Royal Fortress for over 600 years.

Hello Finlay,
This is a well composed picture – there is a good lead in from the left hand side, following the track that runs uphill, as it approaches the main part of the ruined castle on its mound.
The castle is well placed in the image, close to an intersection of thirds, and there is a good sense of perspective across the rolling fields to the horizon.
To be technical:
The file size of the image you have posted is only 99kb. This is just a third of the 300kb that is the TE limit. If you can get nearer to this limit, your pictures will have a much greater impact.
I'd like to do a WS for your consideration.
Kind regards,
Peter.

Hi Finlay,
this one caught my attention because the composition is fine. Castle on the third as Peter pointed out, and strong lines crossing the frame here and there.
As far as exposure is concerned, I agree once again with Peter about boosting the contrast a bit, not too much.
Also my two cents...if you ever get the chance to go back there, you might want to wait for a different time of day, maybe blue hour or early morning, for added impact. Besides, I think I would try a lower POV, to get the castle 'in the sky' so to speak, in order to avoid having a hill as a background for it, to bring emphasis.
Best,
Philippe

Hi Finley,
I think your POV for this shot is well chosen to capture the castle and undulating countryside of Dorset. I agree with the builds given by Peter and his subsequent workshop study is most useful. Some good learnings for both of us here! ;o) Thanks for sharing.
Regards, Adam.

Hello Finlay, great place and good photo! But something is missing to be eye catcher...and this is the light and more colors. The composition are OK. I like the castle!
