Photographer's Note
This picture was taken from the back of a small train station in Morecambe bay, not the worst place to have to wait a little while for the next train to arrive. In the background is the beginnings of the lake district. I like the different layers and patterns in the landscape.

Hi James. Nice capture of a combination of flat land in the distance and curious squiggly edges on the bottom of the frame. I gather as the rain water falls over the edge the earth underneath the sod edge is carried away much quicker than the upper layer of ground. It certainly makes for a creative photo, and I think its one reason why you clicked the shutter here. Right?

Hi James!
Yeah me too, the colored layers create this wonderful palette which I really liked. The mountains and the rough edges on the foreground are bonus. The landscape is really nice though. The train station is not that bad considering how rural the place is. Thanks for sharing!
Enjoy your day!

Hi James,
Nice to see you back here. You've posted a minimalist but very pretty landscape formed with stripes of different color. And I like its soft color palette. That curved line in the foreground looks rather unusual and is very eye-catching. The mood of this image is really peaceful and relaxing. Thanks for sharing and hope to see more beautiful pictures from you soon.
Cheers,
Marina

Good to see you back again... I too am rather more sparing in the time I can give to TE lately, hence my rather tardy response to all your critiques of late. Most generous they were too, I might add.
This is one of my favourite views, of the LD at least. Well, further along maybe nearer Morecambe, when you a better angle. This is Hest Bank I guess, or near ?
I imagine this is a crop out of a bigger picture, as it all seems a little soft ? Whether or no, the effect is rather pleasing, and suits the soft gentle landscape; the bank, the sands and the distant hills. The muted colours all work well together too; all in all a rather pleasing effect, though some would say not sharp enough. Let them say it, I say !

Hi James
Yes, I agree with you, the textures and different levels of landscape are very eye-catching. I like this composition alot but would also like to see a vertical format concentrating on the hill in the background. I think a vertical frame would enhance that effect you're trying to achieve with the depth, textures and levels. Beautiful light, sharpness and contrast. Great job.
Cheers

Cumbria really offers particular sights and genres of landscapes.
I've never seen one like this one before where a very large bay (the sea I presume) is flanked by densely wooded hills, with such a wide sand beach and finally with that strange pattern of mud and grass. I have to say the one feels a infinite sense of space here, an empty area which pleases one's eye. The image is crystal clear and the contrast between the overcast sky and the lovely light on the beach make it very enjoyable to look at.
A very interesting and fine composition,
Donato
