Photographer's Note

Near Sevastopol, in the foreground the ancient Greek Ruins of Chersonesos, and in the back on the hill the recently reconstructed Prince Volodymyr Cathedral. The site marks the place of the coming of Christianity to the area, and the launching of the Russian Orthodox Church with the Baptism on this site of Volodymyr the Great in 989 AD.
