A marathon definitely ain't no piece of cake...
I used only 1/15 shutter speed to get a good motion blur - I was very lucky to have one runner almost sharp though. The picture was heavily cropped and turned to b/w (sharpened/gamma +/contrast +)

Good candid motion blur shot. I agree with you about the one lady in focus. That has added a nice touch. Good choice of black and white too. Well done.

The one lady in focus- nice touch, makes this shot dyamic. 1/15 with a 75-300? Wow. I like the expression on the nearest two ladies' faces.
