Photographer's Note

Equipment of Swiss federal railways (SBB) on Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon line between Kandersteg and Frutigen. Many Swiss passenger trains run on a push-pull mode. It means that on one direction the engine is at the back of the train and it is driven from a control cab in front.

SBB takes nowadays care of the long distance passenger trains. BLS concentrates on commuter traffic on Bern region, and its cargo division on international freight between Germany and Italy.
