Photographer's Note

Hello Everyone,

My last photograph showed the bridge across the Rhine at Cologne. I had intended to show you a different bridge across the Rhine but have decided to use it as a workshop, simply because this method of crossing the Rhine seemed so unusual ... and very colourful!

You can actually see the intended bridge, the Dreirosen Bridge, in the background but I will show it to you much more clearly in my workshop.

Just before the bridge was this unusual ferry!
Colourful decorations were used to make the landing stage attractive and the actual boat had similar colourful decorations.
The current on the Rhine was probable quite strong but the boat was attached to a line, to take it across the river.
In appearance, this looks like something out eastern explorers would have seen, not in the centre of Basel!

Have a great Sunday!
It's trying to snow again here, but flakes very small and light so might not stick. It is very cold, Bev :-)
