Photographer's Note

In september 2011 the Griessee wind power plant in the Swiss Alps (region of Nufenen, Valais) has been put into operation. It is part of a project of the company Swisswinds and is located 2465 m above sea level. Currently it represents the highest-located wind turbine in Europa and the second highest-located plant in the world.
The Nufenen (Novena or Nufenenpass) pass (2'478 alt.) is connecting the canton of Valais and the canton of Ticino with a road that is open from June to October (depending the snow).
