I can count the four streets on hill side by the dwellings rows; what an neat settlement with a view on historic buildings by the river!
Quite attractive cityscape; it's my first visit in Bern!

lined continuous houses beside the river look laking the wall for river, and distant houses on the hill look quite miniature models,

A very picturesque image showing so many details. I like the way you have captured the bridge and the vehicles moving on it. Nice view of the houses with brown roofs on both sides of the river.Excellent color contrast by the green lush and the blue sky.

Lovely POV over this part of the city of Bern. It makes it look like a doll's miniature village.
Great composition, with the curving river, lined with the old houses on one side, and the more modern buildings amongst greenery on the bank of the other side.
Pity about the white sky. Maybe, I would have cropped some of it, in order to draw the attention more on the river and its banks.

Superb view from a high place, which gives a nice birds eye view of the city, these houses are materially above the river .... lovely its banks dotted with houses and vegetation, the medieval bridge is a great complement to the image.

Indeed, you have a good eye, is the same place I visit this city in July and in September Josep certainly that upon his return spent a weekend at my house in the mountains with his wife and it was great.

Great point of view: the picture has a beautiful
view over the river and houses. Composition is
also good: the open space (the water/river) makes
the picture nice calmeness.
Little advice: cut a little peaces above the
picture so that you don't see the overlighted
sky.

Hello Ike,

You're capturing well this place by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the winding river, houses which stand in a row on both sides of a river and greenery on the hill. It's tasteful for house with white outer wall and brown roof. And, old bridge built over a river draws out a good effect.

the beautiful color of the water is probably due to a high lime content. Bern is endangered flood!

Hello Ike,
The river has that typical teal color that I first saw in Switzerland. The bridge is well placed in the frame. I always marvel at these buildings that go all the way down to the water, I wonder how they deal with moisture.

Hello Ike,

A splendid elevated vantage point overlooking the incredibly blue turquoise water of the river. I know for a fact this is not photoshopped as I have seen similar colored water in Canada, New Zealand and Norway where it carries rock flour from mountain streams. Tfs!

Hi Ike,
I have been to Switzerland few times but I didn't have a chance to visit Bern. I have seem many charming photos from this town and I would really like to visit it someday.
The houses in the left remind me very much the architecture which I remember from Zurich or Basel.
The river is greener which probably means it is closer to the mountains.
Lovely viewpoint.The bridge nicely decorates the riverside.
The sky was lost a bit but I see it was one of the early digital cameras which were yet very bad in regard to dynamic range. They have progressed substantially since then,

Hello Ike,
The Swiss capital is actually very little shown on this site.
Still, this is a pleasant surprise and a very nice sight.
The water of the Aare River is beautifully blue.
Very nice with the curve of the river behind the bridge.
Well presented from a good elevated spot.
