Photographer's Note
Railway stations 5/5.
Andermatt is a ski resort near the famous Gotthard pass.
Station belongs to Matterhonf Gotthard Bahn (former Furka Oberalp). Track to the right goes down to Göschenen with connection to SBB main line going through the alps in Gotthard tunnel. Track on the upper left goes to west and goes through tunnel under Furka pass to Rhone valley. And track on the lower left zig zags to Oberalppass. Steep sections are rack assisted.
Shot from a train coming down from Oberalppass.

It's a toy station, right? ;-) Look at these miniature carriages...good sharpness, well done!
Best regards,

Hi Kari,
I have seen this place, but from a total different view.
This one is really nice with strong composition lines and very colourful. That the train is coming in is an extra point.
Well done..!!!

I can see what you were looking for and technically the shot is well executed, however I think you need a much tighter crop on the tracks as all those buildings are messy and distracting

Hi Kari, good lines, an abstract, from dramatic POV. I like the "X" in the middle of the tracks. The red and green elements stand out very well. Cheers! Daniel

I wouldn't crop a thing as cliffy suggests as the buildings give context to the whole image. You don't have to suffer from vertigo; when scrolling down it makes you dizzy. You can spend ages looking at all the details. Interesting shot.

Hi Kari,
Nice shot. Great POV, vivid colors and sharp details. It looks like a model train. Childhood nostalgia... Well done. Bravo!

Hi Kari,
I can only add my own fascination with your sharpness, level of detail and capture...as well as this "toy" look.

This is a great birds-eye-view of the Andermatt railway station, Kari, and I like the neatness in the shot. It's really Swiss tidy and organized - even the surrounding meadows. I've been going up and down by car to the Oberalp pass in recent years, but don't think I had such a good view from the road (I have to look through my older prints). Your informative note - elucidating the complex railway situation - is an extra bonus. Very well done!
I was going to add it to my theme, but you already did - thanks!

Hi Kari,
Another interesting railway picture. Where you took that from? The station looks like child model PIKO :) Your method is very compfortable to review the station with all rails and crossings in details. Thanks.

Superbe prise, photographiée depuis le train (je l'ai aussi fait une fois à peu près au même endroit).
Les couleurs sont magnifiques.

Terve Kari,
I found this one browsing the Andermatt folder yesterday, I was bluffed to see how close it comes to a Märklin model train, excellent result shot from a moving train.
Have a nice day,

Hi Kari,
Sophisticated framing after your due consideration. I don't get tired of seeing at all even if seeing for a long time. This is the best railwayscape on TE.
Have a nice day,
Hisashi

In Dutch we have a saying that goes "beter laat dan nooit". In English it says "better late than never". I have never seen this shot before this day, and it is worth seeing. It looks like a HO scale railway decor. I had one in my basement for years.
Absolutely wonderful
