Photographer's Note
Kiruna Kyrka is the main church of the northernmost swedish City, Kiruna. The church is made completely out of Wood. It was built in 1912 by the architect Gustaf Wickman. The church is located in the middle of a small park, near the central Station. A wide angle lens is useful here since you cannot go far from the church without having the surrounding trees in your Image.
The City of Kiruna itself, North of the arctic circle, is a mining town in Norbottens Län, Sweden. The reason that a City so far up North exists is the high abundance in iron ore. The kiruna mine is one of the biggest in the world and iron ore extraction is the city's main industry.

Hi Franz, great capture of this very original architechture, the best moment whit the best light to have the best contrast between the sky and the warm colors of the facades, spectacular details and nice 3D effect too,the best way to celebrate the start of the 2nd century of this church.Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

what a shot! Love the clarity and sharpness of this image. Great colours also. There are many shots of architecture here in TE, but very little of them are as great as it. Like your composition a lot... A really eye catching one. Tfs.

Hello Franz,
This is really a beautiful church and a remarkable piece of architecture. You captured it very well with superb colours and light.
I guess you know that all of Kiruna will have to move during the coming years because the town would collapse when the mine is extended. I suppose that means that this church will have to be dismantled, piece by peice, and assembled again a few kilometres away.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Franz,
I have to say, some wonderful designs have emanated from the Scandinavian countries and this is a fine example. It looks so very modern for a building which is over 100 years old!
You have captured it with excellent clarity and colour saturation. It would be very difficult to improve on this!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Franz,
This church is beautiful, and your photo presents it well. I really like the color of the wood and the style of the architecture. You were also lucky to have a wonderful blue sky. The statues on the sides of the church look interesting, too. Are they saints?

Hi Franz
I had a difficult time picking between this photo and your newest one from Portugal, i enjoy both.
I went with this photo in the end, i guess the architecture is too much to pass up :)
its wonderful how you composed it so that the church takes up basically the entire Frame.
that, and the color contrasts of the blue sky and rusted reds is too much to resist.
great shot here
cheers

Hi Franz,
I see that you've updated your profile pic, Futurama...nice choice. :) Unconventional architecture for a church, which has made for a striking visual...I really like the originality and design. A good angle taken to show the many integrated shapes of this building with added dimension. Graphic in it's overall appeal, and naturally beautiful with its all wooden construction. Great colors and detail from this shot, presented in a very pleasing manner. Thanks for providing a look at this most interesting building. Have a good weekend.
All the best,
Jason
