Photographer's Note
The Louis de Geer concerthall and conference rooms have been located in the old buildings of a paper factory. The foyer is situated in the former machinery hall and the concerthall is situated in the hall where the paper mass was prepared.
The large concert and conference room has a capacity of 1300 places and is home to the Norrköping symphony orchestra.
Louis De Geer, born 1587-11-17 in Liège, died 1652-06-19 in Amsterdam, was a merchant and industrialist. He is considered the father of Swedish industry.
De Geer had received a good education with travels. He began his industrial career in Amsterdam around 1615. He came in contact with Sweden and heard of its natural assets. He started doing business with the Swedish Crown. The Crown, impressed by the cunning business man, allowed him to lease estates near Finspång, Östergötland in eastern Sweden where De Geer had established a formidable workshop industry.
On the photo you see the bridge between the foyer (right) and the concert hall (left). On the right you see a part of the building which is connected to Holmentornet which I showed in the first photo of this series.
This photo is the fourth of a series of five about the preserved Norrköping industrial landscape. All photo’s in this series were taken in July 1997 and are scanned from positive slides.

Hi Harko,
You did a great use of the "graphicality" and the colours of the industrial architecture and the gorgeous light. Much eye catching and amazingly well composed.

Hej Harko!!
