Photographer's Note

This photo was taken during last Feria de Abril in Barcelona, in the Fòrum of Barcelona.

There you could see thousand of people dacing in the traditional way of the South of Spain. And the most of them were really good dancers.

But, how can you recognize if is a good dancer or if isn't a good dancer?
Well, I know nothing about dancing... but look their faces and you will understand why I say they are good dancers.

Hola Carlos,

Intensa y profunda, esta instantánea rebosa de naturalidad, has logrado capturar un momento lleno de fuerza y pasión, cuando algo se siente de verdad se nota en la cara, este es un buen ejemplo de ello, me recuerda a las expresiones de las chicas de natación sincronizada.

Un trabajo que refleja a la perfección lo que algunos sienten con el baile.

Une très belle prise de vue, le choix du noir blanc est bien vu.

Yo tampoco entiendo nada de flamenco pero lo importante es lo bien que has sabido captar la fuerza de la expresión de la bailarina, que es un claro reflejo de lo que siente en lo más profundo de su alma. Impactante. ¡Muy buena!

Hello Carlos,

I'm not big on dancing, but I can see where some people's passion for dancing is coming from when I look at this photograph! Full of power, vibrance and passion.
I looked at the workshops and despite the vibrant colours it is surely black and white that does it for me. Just wondering why you have choosen such a tight compo in both cases. Though not at all too disturbing.

no need to know much about danceing... that face says it all... obviously with a hand held tele zoom lens it was tough to prevent shaking but here the "unsharpness" is acceptable, if not desirable - the "bold" shapes even enhance dynamism and passion on her face...

She is really acting out the story of the dance and is looking right at you. The expression on her face is wonderful as if she is angry at you. I prefer this one and think you made the right choice with your post. The B&W enhances the drama somehow. Well done

Oh yes, I can imagine how well she dances, that expression of passion says so much! Great moment you caught, full of energy, of life, of beauty of the moment, of mastering and also letting go. Never mind the so light unsharpness, this is a very good piece of work and I like also very much the vertical framing and the b/w. And the beautiful and soft face behind. The best of the series. Hola Carlos, excellent capture of her strong attitude. We can feel that she's giving her inner soul while dancing and that's also a good work from you. I think I prefer this version because of the background and more intense gesture, although I would prefer that the other woman wasn't there. The b&w works well.

Carlos este retrato es muy bueno, encuentro una expresión formidable en el rostro de la bailarina. has sabido captar su esencia sin lugar a dudas. la composición es muy buena, el primer planos desplazado hcia el costado iquierdo y el rostro un tanto desenfocdo hacia la derecha complementa de una extraordinaria forma el cuadro.

El Sigma 70-300 en tus manos se ha comportado de una manera impagable y has captado toda la intensidad expresiva de la bailaora que parece mirarte a ti directamente, no sé si diciendo una maldición gitana o en un arranque de pasión flamenca. Desenfoque bello del fondo y el claroscuro en su punto.

this is truly beautiful. I was immediately captured by the eyes of the woman which litterally passed through the screen..a very powerful expresion and you captured it with perfect timing. I also like the conversion to b&w, to enhance the dark tones and emphasizing the beautifl gesture of the dancer..I really like this picture!
