During the 18th century the Kings of Spain enriched the Royal Site of Aranjuez with renovations and new works. Among the most important is the extensive Garden of the Prince, with its architectural works, such as the access doors to the garden, the Apollo fountain or the pond with its classical and Chinese temple.

Without a doubt, this is the largest garden found in Aranjuez with a perimeter of 7 km and 150 hectares in size. Unlike the Garden of the Island, the Garden of the Prince stands out for its botanical wealth and not for its layout. In reality it is not a single garden, but several. The first five gardens were created by order of Carlos IV.

The Garden of the Prince was created by Carlos IV, still Prince of Asturias, and concluded it as king, between 1789 and 1808. Unlike the Garden of the Island, it is a landscape garden that follows the English and French fashion at the end of the century XVIII. However, it includes previous elements, such as the Huerta de la Primavera and the Ferdinand VI pier.

The Garden of the Prince of Aranjuez is 32 hectares larger than the Retiro (Madrid), therefore it is one of the most extensive gardens in Spain. It is surrounded by the Tagus River. Along the walk you will be able to observe a large number of plant species, many of them brought from distant lands.

If you enter the garden through the first of the monumental entrances, the jetty gate, and walk along the street of the same name, the old Huerta de la Primavera will be on the right, and the Tagus river on the left, with a jetty preceded by a roundabout with five picturesque pavilions. The Royal Pavilion is the largest and was built by Bonavía in 1754, while the other four were built during the reign of Carlos III, for the Prince and Princess of Asturias, Carlos and Mª Luisa, to use as a recreational casino. . Between the pavilions there is a small octagonal garden that separates the jetty and the main pavilion. It is here where Carlos IV began to spend long hours enjoying the views, and hence the name of the garden in honor of this king.

Durante el siglo XVIII los Reyes de España enriquecieron el Real Sitio de Aranjuez con renovaciones y obras nuevas. Entre las más importantes está el extenso Jardín del Príncipe, con sus obras arquitectónicas, como las puertas de acceso al jardín, la fuente de Apolo o el estanque con sus templetes clásico y chinesco.

Sin duda alguna, este es el jardín más grande de los que se encuentran en Aranjuez con un perímetro de 7 km y 150 hectáreas de extensión. A diferencia del Jardín de la Isla, el del Príncipe destaca por la riqueza botánica y no por su por su trazado. En realidad no es un solo jardín, sino varios. Los cincos primeros jardines se crearon por orden de Carlos IV.

El Jardín del Príncipe fue creado por Carlos IV, siendo todavía Príncipe de Asturias y lo concluyó siendo rey, entre 1789 y 1808. Al contrario que el Jardín de la Isla, es un jardín paisajista que sigue la moda inglesa y francesa a finales del siglo XVIII. Sin embargo, en él se integran elementos anteriores, como la Huerta de la Primavera y el embarcadero de Fernando VI.

El Jardín del Príncipe de Aranjuez es 32 hectáreas más grande que el Retiro (Madrid) por tanto se trata de uno de los jardines más extensos de España. Está rodeado por el río Tajo. A lo largo del paseo se podrán observar una gran cantidad de especies vegetales, muchas de ellas traídas de tierras lejanas.

Si accede al jardín por la primera de las entradas monumentales, la puerta del embarcadero, y avanza por la calle del mismo nombre queda a la derecha la antigua Huerta de la Primavera, y a la izquierda el río Tajo, con un embarcadero precedido por una glorieta con cinco pintorescos pabellones. El Pabellón Real es el más grande y fue levantado por Bonavía en 1754, mientras que los otros cuatro se edificaron durante el reinado de Carlos III, para que el Príncipe y la Princesa de Asturias, Carlos y Mª Luisa, los utilizasen como casino de recreo. Entre los pabellones se encuentra un pequeño jardín ochavado que separa el embarcadero y el pabellón principal. Es aquí donde Carlos IV empezaba a pasar largas horas disfrutando de las vistas, y de ahí el nombre del jardín en honor a este rey.
