Photographer's Note

Hello friends and colleagues, today I present the fishing village of Orio in a composition with its port, I hope you like it, then some letters about the town.

Orio is a Spanish municipality in the province of Guipúzcoa, in the autonomous community of the Basque Country.
It is a coastal town with a fishing tradition. It is known for being the birthplace of several prominent Basque artists (such as Jorge Oteiza or Benito Lertxundi) and for its great t-shirt tradition.
It is possible that the name of Orio is not more than a deformation of "Oria river" in whose mouth the population is found. The town was founded in the Middle Ages under the name of Noble and Leal Villarreal of San Nicolás de Bari de Orio, but this long name was lost and became known simply as Orio. In colloquial form and when speaking in Basque the name of the population is pronounced Óriyo.
