Photographer's Note

I came to the ferry from this photo only to take a couple of photos. After docking and unloading, the crew disappeared. Probably in the nearby café. They have left everything empty and wide open, just in case some passengers show up. When I came only a girl was patiently sitting there, with her bag under the bench. While I was considering my photo options a car with two men came and boarded the ferry. It was already 15 minutes after the scheduled departure time, but obviously nobody here cares about the timetable much. I heard one of the men explaining on the phone to someone else how to find the place. I exchanged a couple of words with the people, took several photos and since there was nothing else interesting there, I decided to go away. While I was walking away I saw the crew coming. I am pretty sure that they have waited for the other car.

Edit: Just to make things clear, since there seems to be some confusion. This is not the photo of the boat terminal, but of the boat itself. I was standing on the boat, near its far end in the river. The boat is open on both side, as can be seen in the previous photo, one side was docked, and the other just going towards the water. The only car was also on the boat, but behind my back. The driver could have continued all the way over the boat and in the water if he wanted so, there is nothing to stop the car. They don't seem to close the boat often, maybe never. I suspect that the pieces of wood are there so they can be put under the cars wheels, just to make the possibility of any car ending in the river during the crossing less likely. What can be seen in the distance is the other bank, but not of the river, the Danube is much wider here. It's the other bank of the Danube - Tisa - Danube canal that begins here. The river is about 100m to the left.
