Photographer's Note

This may seem like a strange church to you. In fact, there are not many of this kind. I know at least one similar, also in this region, but this one is particularly nice. It’s devoted to Our Lady of Livramento and as you can see from the shape of its façade, it is a megalithic burial chamber (dolmen), later adapted. It became then a little rural chapel, painted in the southern colours, white and blue. It’s a little away from the main tourist routes, near S. Brissos, the closest village that is 2 or 3 kilometres far. People are usually very helpful if you need to ask right direction.
After the national road, you need to take two or three more roads to get there. The final one is a quite narrow road that passes near. It can be easily seen from the road. There’s no possible mistake, its dolmen-shape, painted in blue and white, with a small cross at the top tells us at once that’s the place. The place is magic. There’s no one around, only a couple of trees and fences with sheep. The only noise you hear here comes exactly from them. The rest is only an immense plain. In front, you have a quite unusual monument that has been used by different cults till nowadays. It’s formed by two different parts: the dolmen that has been adapted and another very small part that has been built later, probably just to increase the size the chapel.
It’s usually closed, but there’s someone responsible who comes with the key when there are visitors. You just need to contact him.
Hope to post another perspective in a colour version very soon!
