Photographer's Note

Last 6th April it was a national holliday here in Portugal and I went for a walk thru Lisboa.

After being at the overcrowded downtown, I started to go up to S.Jorge's Castle but again overcrowded and I lost the will to go there and try to get some views over Lisboa, still climbing again I tried the miradouro da Graça which has a similar view to the one we have from the Castle just a bit from bellow.

The sun was already on its way down and its light was being filtered by some clouds in the sky, but the side light was a bit disturbing, even more because I hdan't brought any filters or parasol to avoid it.

From Miradouro da Graça we can experience of of the most beautiful views over Lisboa and there's the church there which is very nice and interesting too.
For those who get tired with the climb, there's a little esplanade and a smal garden area on the square nearby, a place that is worth the climb.

Going down from there you can pass by S.Vicente de Fora and the church which is quite impressive and behind it, if you go there on weekends you'll be able to find out the place where Feira (fair) da Ladra takes place.

Right bellow you'll find Panteão Nacional, one of the most impressive buildings IMO, Lisboa has to show, and where some of the proeminents figures of the country are buried, as Amalia Rodrigues (former fado singer), Almeida Garrett, Aquilino Ribeiro, Guerra Junqueiro and João de Deus (all this 4 were famous writers) or former presidents like Manuel de Arriaga, Oscar Carmona, Sidonio Pais and Teófilo Braga, and Humberto Delgado (a huge name known for his fight against the dictatorial regime that ruled the country and was known as "Estado Novo").

So as you can see the climb is worth not only for this view but also because you can visit all the places I've said here with "one shot".
