Photographer's Note

The sweet chestnut was introduced into Europe from Sardis,it has been a staple food in Southern Europe, Turkey and southwestern and eastern Asia for millennia, largely replacing cereals where these would not grow well, if at all, in mountainous Mediterranean areas.
The Chestnut Tree, their leaves fall in the Autumn covering all the ground beneath its branches. In this case i could also see alot of the fruits still partially inside the pointing shell that protects them.
This photo was taken inside the S. Mamede mountain range natural park.
