Photographer's Note

Lisbon is famous for classic trams and they are usually full of tourists taking a ride up and down the hilly streets. There are also special tour trams offering more spacious experience with audio guide, naturally with somewhat bigger price.

Hello Kari,
A nice photo of this modernized tram parked between framing trees. The persons standing beside it provide some well matching colours. I remember reading somewhere that the ordinary trams running the narrow slopes of the old parts of Lisbon are often so crowded with tourists that the locals, who need them to go to work, schools, shops etc can hardly get inside.

Ideal is the charm that these trams give Lisbon, which seem to take us back in time half a century, a very good POV of this, in this tree-lined and quiet square.

Such a lovely photo of this classic tram, seen from a good angle here and in a fine light. The trees on both sides create a nice frame as well and the people are well included at right.

Considering how steep many of the hills in Lisbon are, the higher price for a quick overview and commentary of the city would be money well spent. The city reminded me of both Istanbul and San Francisco. Tfs!

Beautiful series from Lisbon here. The trams decorate streets of the town so well indeed.

Hello Kari,
I've made several rides on the little Lisbon trams.
But I wasn't aware of the existence of a tour tram. Perhaps that tour tram was created more recently.
It seems like a good idea anyway.

Those old trams are so well kept, it was an intriguing to see them riding through town.
The picture reminded me of our great tour in Lisboa in particular and Portugal in general. I cannot recognize this specific station, looks to me - and I guess it was around the Torre-de-Belem area.

t's been 35 years now, but I remember those beautiful trams well, especially in the narrow streets of Alfama
Do the trains run regularly or only the tourist train?
It Is a fine shot, taken from a google with fine light.
