Photographer's Note
Giewont is by far the the most distinctive of the Tatra peaks, and it has been revered by the Highlanders since time immemorial. It's silhouette has long been likened to that of a Sleeping Knight, with his plumed helmet curling away at the westernmost extent.
On top of the mountain is a famous old cross that was erected by the Highlanders one hundred years ago. Its construction was no mean feat, as this tall monument is built of jointed steel. As any hiker will tell you, the last stretch of the mountain is very hazardous, and today there are special chained paths to help you get to the top. The cross reads 'To Jesus Christ, from the Highlanders of Zakopane. 1900.'
Shot was taken from the Kozi Wierch peak. It was very cludy day in valley but it was very sunny in high mountains.

Hi Jack
Simple but beuatiful composition! This rocky peak looks like
a space ship. All this fog is beautiful. Well Done

You look extremely far up. You are literally above the clouds! Interesting how people have envisioned the top to a sleeping knight. I like how you've captured the texture of the clouds. It contrasts well with the gaunt surface of the rock.

Odlotowy, slowo daje. Pozdrowenia, Tomek.

Beautifully captured, Jack, this is a really nice one! I like the contrast here, the jagged rock and the rest of it's texture, all emphasized with the B&W version. Well done!

Perfekcyjna kompozycja. Wprawdzie przyroda sama pomogła w tak dobrym zdjęciu ale o to właśnie chodziło, by w tak doskonałym momencie nacisnąć migawkę.
