Photographer's Note

The tall building in this photo is an old town gate of Słupsk, called Mill Gate (Brama Młyńska) due to the fact that there is an old water mill next to it. From the angle which I selected here, the gate looks less photogenic than from the front because the most decorative part of it is hidden behind the tree, but on that time of the day I thought this spot looked better from this POV, especially in the context of other old stylish buildings.

Wikipedia says that the old town of Słupsk was deliberately destroyed by the fire set by the “liberating” Red Army in 1945 after the front retreat, meaning there was no strategic need for it...

Słupsk was a frequent guest on TrekEarth in the past because one of the very active TE members, Henryk_Bilor, was from this town. Henryk was active on TE before my time, so I think we have never exchanged any comments.
