Wrocław Cathedral

Some more spires from the oldest part of the city of Wrocław, called Ostrów Tumski (Cathedral Island). This one shows the twin towers of Wrocław Cathedral (officially: Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Wrocław, Archikatedra św. Jana Chrzciciela). It is a Gothic church with Neo-Gothic additions and the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Wrocław. The towers are 98 metres high. The mural on the right hand side is about the visit Pope John Paul II paid Wrocław in May and June 1997.
