CYANOMETER
The cyanometer is an artistik installation by Slovenian artist Martin Bricelj Baraga situated near the university library in Wroclaw. It is both a monument and the air quality measuring station in Wroclaw. The Blue Sky Monument was inspired by the instrument invented in 1789 by Horace-Bénédict de Saussure, a Swiss scientist, for measuring of "blueness", the color intensity of blue sky.
The cyanometer has a ring with a scale of blue tones, it shows how deep is the blue of the sky.
This monument measures also the air polution influenced by both moisture and the amount of suspended particles in the air.
Another cyanometer is located in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
