One of the courtyards of the fortress Klodzko.
The fortifications of Klodzko are one of the best preserved 17th - 18th centuries defensive systems in Poland. Defensive buildings occupy the area of 32 hectares on the top of a hill. Underground is a net of corridors hollow in the rocks under the hill.
The length of the corridors is approx. 40 km and the entire network forms a maze of tunnels, whose height ranges from 50 cm to 2 m.
In the picture you can see massive walls, their thickness at the base reaches 12 m in the upper part 4 m.
