On 15 August is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

I took the picture in the village of Ludzmierz (about 85 km south of Krakow). There is the Sanctuary known as the Hostess of Podhale there. The Podhale (literally "under Mountain meadows") is Poland's most southern region.

Locals wear traditional highland dress very rarely. And such feast as this in Ludzmierz is unique occasion to viewing traditional highland dress

The most popular element of traditional highland dress is the hat decorated with shells and a eagle feather (unmarried man only).
