Autumn Colours [2], a photo from Sor-Trondelag, South

Photographer's Note

This autumn we had some great weather, and I have made several trips to the mountains to look for autumn colours. The place I went to is located at an altitude close to 1000 m, and because of this autumn will appear much earlier as compared to the lowlands.

This image is taken as early as September 17 but the autumn colours are already very much present. The moor is turning brownish and the trees are throwing the yellow leaves… However, pines are dominating the vegetation, but trees grow only in locations sheltered from the worst winter storms.

Here we can see Lake Samsjøen, the end point for my trip this time. The lake is located 15 km from the highway down in the valley, and accessible only along the narrow dirt road as we see here.

Hi Pablo,
I like this shot, especially the road in the foreground that gives a sense of deepness. Actually, I could even imagine a cropped version with only the lower half of the photo. Maybe I'll try a workshop later :)

Hi Pablo,
A clean crisp image resonating with resplendent autumn hues and tones. The road takes the eye far into the frame and is just off centre enough to work well. The blue lake provides a great layer of extra interest and the details are sharp, maybe a little oversharp in the foreground. This rugged wilderness area is well rendered and presented here.

Hello Pablo, avec l’été difficile sécheresse puis le mauvais temps du moi d’août la végétation, comme tu le dis dans ta note, même en septembre est pressée de prendre du repos, vous êtes sacrément gâtés, les habitants du nord, avec l'air si claire et surtout le paysage impressionnant de toutes cette luminosité magique et ces merveilleuses couleur, qu'est ce que je vous envie, un cadrage qui va très bien à ce joli point de vue sur cette route légèrement sinueuse, la palette des couleurs d'automne est également très jolie, et toujours ces beaux paysages qui nous transmettent une impression d'infini, bien amicalement

autumn colors are accentutaed by the color of the dirt road here. also like the fact that it leads us slowly to the body of water in the background. good contrast of colors and great clarity.
ps: also looked at the ws photo but i don't think it gives the sense of openness as does the original.

Nice off-road road! The beautiful lake is still blue, reflecting the sky, but soon will darken... The compo is very agreable. It's not me that shold make remarks (I concider you one of my teachers), but there is some tilt to the right - both of lake and sky... Colors are as vivid as only you can present them!

The pov of this one is just fantastic with thos pathway leading us thru it even if we don't want to. It's very nice to appreciate it's surrounding with all these trees and their colours and then we have this beautiful lake breaking the greenery scene and finally again the greenery spectacle.

Autumn has finally come to Norway, the summer this year was so good that I was starting to wonder when autumn would arrive.
The use of colour in this shot is magnificent.
The leading road works great ot pull the view towards the lake in the distance. Maybe it is slightly to straight to my liking, but who am I too tell. It works great with the composition, but had it been me I would have tried a slight angle to it.

The composition is great showing such a great expanse from your POV. Using the dirt road allows us to look down through the photograph, then the water and hills beyond bring us back up. I like the muted colors of nature at this time of year and it lends the photograph a very rustic feeling...like the old west here in the US.

I have trouble with your gallery...there's so many fine images it is difficult to choose! Eventually I settled on this one because of the perspective looking down the track. Either side there are fine colours and tones of an approaching Autumn and at the end there is the lake stretching across the shot. The colours and the light are fantastic and as always, it's a superb composition, well done.

Olá Pablo, I can only imagine the pleasure of descending this dirt road by bicycle. In fact, the places that you usually show here, must be great for cycling. Wonderful landscape, very well composed with great depth.
