Photographer's Note

Standing on top of a moraine I turn to see where the others were going and there... I realised that this was exactly what I had dreamed of - the glacier stretched as far as the eye could see and the bright sun made sure to accentuate the lines and curves of the millions of crevasses in the blue ice.

This picture was taken on a glacier course arranged by DNT (The Norwegian Tourist Association) in the summer of 2003.

The entire group of eight people lived for one week in the small hut Flatbrehytta, right next to the largest glacier on the European continent: Jostedalsbreen. The hut has a homepage:
