Photographer's Note

This is a picture from my first hike to the mountain ridge Besseggen 1743 masl. Besseggen is located in the Jotunheimen area in the county of Oppland. The walk over the ridge is very popular in Norway. Around 30.000 persons completes the trip annually.

The red T on the cairn is something you can see all across the country. All over Norway there are several hiking routes marked with this red T-symbol to help make the trip safe. The T stands for the Norwegian word for hike, TUR. The marking with the red T is organized by the Norwegian Hiking Association, Den Norske Turistforening.
