Photographer's Note
Norway is a land of fjords, islands and mountains. Although it is possible to reach some of islands via roads and tunnels, the best way to see the islands, both off the coast and in the fjords, is by boat. Many people therefore own boats, and many harbours have these surface mooring buoys. All mooring buoy systems consist of three elements: a permanent fixture on the sea bottom; a floating buoy on the water surface; and something in between to attach the two. Using such a system prevents damage to the seabed by anchors.

Amelia,
You wrote very useful information about buoys and discovering the beauty of Norway. This is a very beautiful and interesting photo and reflections gives it a special charm. Very simple and beautiful composition.

Very minimalist nothing other than the subjects to draw the eye
Fine saturation with good detailing the reflection just finishes this image off

Hi Amelia.
The first three photos in your gallery are nice and first of all very informative. They all tell something special about our way of living or nature phenomenas. This one has nice reflections and strong colours with a contrast between the red buoys and the blue, almost grey water. Thanks for sharing.
Regards from Bergen.

hello Amelia
Welcome on TE with this shot. The red hues are contrasting with the greyish water, and the reflections are very interesting. Sun above the clouds can be seen at the bottom right.
kind regards

Hello Amelia!
It's a lovely shot, most of all I like the optical illusion - the buoys seem to be levitating one above another. There is a glimmer there, and a nice contrast in colours. Well done.

Hi Amelia, this is a very artistic composition. The muted blue tones are magnificent, as is the light on the water. I like the strong red buoys and their reflections are so strong. The vertical frame was a great choice and there is a really attractive symmetry to your shot. Thanks for sharing and I wish you a lovely weekend, Lisa

Hi Amelia,
this is a great composition, at first sight a litle disorienting before you recognize what is reflection and what is "real" ...:) Beautiful sharpness and colours, very well done!
Kind regards,
Günther

Intriguing composition which looks at first sight like a nicely balanced arrangement of abstract features in a flat plane. As the eye takes in the subtle ripples it becomes strikingly 3-dimensional. Well done!
