Photographer's Note

Last week-end I took advantage of the most wonderful weather, brought my camera and went to a mountain area in Central Norway. This is a place with lots of photo opportunities and I will bring a few of the images in the days to come, starting here with a view of my end point Lake Samsjøen. This lake is located about 15 km from where I started in the valley.

There is nothing dramatic in this landscape, nothing like the mountains in the western part of Norway. On the contrary, here we have slowly rolling hills with lakes and ponds scattered all over, connected by small rivers and creeks…

Due to the northern location the vegetation is quite scarce, in spite the altitude is only around 1000 m. Mountain birch and pine are the most common of trees, some fir can also be found.
