Photographer's Note

This is the view we got when we were on Alesund's belvedere. As you can see, the weather was threatening, but I wasn't too displeased with the clarity of the photo.
Alesund is built on 3 islands surrounding a sea inlet :
-Heissa, which you can see opposite the bay.
-Aspoy in the middle, where you can see the colourful Art Nouveau buildings.
-Norvoy, the most eastern on which is the Belvedere.

We were lucky to spend 2 weeks on the cruise ship moored down below, the RYNDAM from "Holland America Line". It holds little more than 1000 passengers, which is few compared to the monsters they build now.
It was great visiting Norway from the sea, from the fyords, and from the mountains inland when we took day trips out.
Every time we were up in the mountains, I enjoyed photographing our ship, moored down below.

If you are interested, I added a little dossier in WS about cruising in Norway.
WS6 : Trondheim.
WS5 : Tromso. The Ryndam on the right.
WS4 : In Geiranger fyord.
WS3 : A clearer view of a life boat.
WS2 : One of these monsters, the "MSC Splendida".
WS1 :"Hurtig ruten" ( "The fast way" in Norwegian) are the loveliest cruise ships of all in Norway.
