Photographer's Note

This time some action! Another picture of a regatta somewhere in the carib. This one was difficult to take. I was not on a press boat this time, but on a sailboat. Whe were racing in the same class as the boat on the pic. The sea was a little bit bumpy and we where sailing with 7 knots. The ship on the picture was a little bit faster than we, but they didn't make it. We where first at the finish....;;)

Not really sharp, but i like the waves and the action. I hope you like it?

The square format functions very well on this photograph. The blue of the ocean is splendid and gives desire for plunging. I love much the crew of the boat aligned with starboard, that produced an effect a little strange and amusing.

Le format carré fonctionne très bien sur cette photo. Le bleu de l'océan est magnifique et donne envie de plonger. J'aime beaucoup l'équipage du bateau aligné à tribord, cela produit un effet un peu insolite et amusant.

Robbert, very good compostion with the main object at the bottom left third's intersection. The diagonal across the picture provides direction for the eye. I like all the shades of blue. Another wonderful day in front of the wind. This one shows me just how much I need to learn :-)

Wederom weer een mooie actiefoto Robbert. Dat ie niet geheel scherp is maakt niet zo heel veel uit denk ik, belangrijker is dat ie er in z'n geheel op staat.

I really enjoy your sailing pictures Robbert. You did an exelent job, especially during the circumstances. As you say, it can't have been easy during that bumpy ride. I like the actionin this shot.

Hij is inderdaad niet 100 % scherp Robbert maar, het blijft een prachtige foto, rustige zee, bemaning aan het genieten, deels zon wat wil men nog meer, de vakantie kribbels komen er aan. Laat ze maar komen de zeilers. Bedankt.

Perfect great composition with this absolut diagonal. The color are great, beatiful sky and nice detail at the sea, and the red shirts give a colorful point among all the blue.

Hi Robbert. What a fantastic boat, and it's whiteness contrasts so well with the very blue sea! having the crew all sitting on the side like that is great, and their red shirts add some nice life to the shot. It's good that you have captured the entire mast and the framing works well, I think, with this picture.

la qualité est bonne à mes yeux !

Quel bleu cette mer ! J'aime bien le jeu d'ombres qui donne de la profondeurs à la mer la mer ne parait pas si tranquille que ca !
Je suis toujours impressionner par ces marins qui sont la assi zen alors que ca va vite !
Le fait que le mat soit en diagonal de la photo permet de bien habillé le ciel .

The picture is good enough. There are not a lot of action, the wave are quite small. But the coulor of the see is so blue.

Great sailing shot, the angle, the colour of the sea and the entire mast in the shot and it seems sharp enough to me. I wish the shadow was stronger, but theres nothing you can do about that! Well done.

Great picture again. This time, the angle of the boat and the blueness of the water "make" this shot. Composition (un-centered) is also well-conceived.

The sharpness of this shot, and other shots of this series, is amazing. especially if counting the speed, the waves, the turns, the splashes - you must have an iron hands, Robbert. great shot again, sharpness, colors, subject, timing - all great. Very well done.

Back to your trademark sailing shots - this is another very exciting one, Robbert. Great action, super tilt, love the human and color touch added by the crew on the boat. And those tones of "sunny" blue are once more stupendous. Really excellent.

The color of the water and of the sky are so beautifull that they make up for the lack of sharpness in my opinion. The boat is positioned perfectly in this shot. We can almost fell the action of the race.

Hi Robbert, Well cropped to fit the frame. Exciting sailing image with good colours especially the sea, which is a good hue. The angle makes this dramatic, Murray.
