Speeding van on a bridge

I planned to post a shot made with my new cam today (a Canon 30D with a EFS 17-85 IS USM lens –delightful!) but to get the best out of this ensemble takes some more exploring of the nooks and crannies of it’s system, and this will take a few days more then I expected. Pls be patient ;-).
So today a little urban grahism by the F10.

Displayed here is the Algera bridge in Capelle a.d. Ijssel in the banlieu of Rotterdam. In the background is the floodgate suspended by one of its towers. It was erected in 1958 after the flooding catastrophe of 1953 which inundated mayor parts of the province of Zeeland and Zuid Holland.

Shot during a Easter bike ride along the river Ijssel. I waited a while until the right car or van would enter the frame to make the composition complete. The speeding blue Ford Transit fitted the bill nicely.

PCS2 tech: slightly cropped, altered the contrast, saturation, curves and levels for the whole pic and some elements separately, USM-ed, added a frame and saved for the web.
