Photographer's Note

Last night I went out night hunting with Bert(olucci). We went hunting a couple of times during the day, but by coincedence got the same idea at the same time, to once go out at night. So we gathered at 00:30 AM, and started off....

What you see here is the old railroad bridge 'the HEF', it's a green steel bridge (built in 1927 and designed by P. Joosting) and it really is a landmark. I love that bridge, beautiful steel, and really sturdy, and every time I come home from work, I look forward to see this bridge high above 'my island'.
The railroad went underground through the city center in 1993, and this bridge is since an industrial monument.
I think it's a bit of a shame that there's an ugly new radar staion on top of it.
In front of the HEF, is the Koninginnebrug (Queen's bridge) with the little cones, connecting the south of Rotterdam via the Northern island, across the Willemsbrug (William's bridge) to the north of Rotterdam, and the city center.
Here is Bert's picture of the same hunt.

The orange reflection in the sky is from the highway behind.
