Fluent Motion

Behind three ‘hares’ the following three athletes running the Rotterdam Marathon near the ½ marathon spot are displayed in adverse weather conditions:
Guta Degene 17 (ethiopie)
Ismail Sghyr 15 (france)
Mohammed Mourhit 22 (belgium)
As opposed to my previous posting the crop is wider, displaying the fluent way the athlets propulse themselves.

These three pro-athletes finished at about the same position as the numbers displayed on their outfits. This flags that like other big marathons, the Rotterdam is carefully planned and managed to get the best results -preferable a world record.
Marathons are surely also economic events as they are important to the international prestige and tourist potential of the city.
Before the marathon three or four groups are formed by the ‘race advisor’. The first group around the destined winner (with number one on its outfit), the second group around the Dutch runners competing for the national marathon title (the Rotterdam Marathon is also the Dutch marathon championship race) and other athletes and the third or fourth around the favourite female runners. During the marathon the ‘race director’ monitors and coaches these groups, from the buddy seat of a motorbike..

Mooi, door dit groepje worden alle kleine beweging, die je normaal niet ziet, van het rennen zichtbaar. Nummer 15 en zijn buurman ervoor (van wie het nummer niet te zien is) zweven helemaal. Ze lijken allemaal op elkaar, maar hebben allemaal een andere kleur sportschoenen aan. De beweging van al die voeten, schoenen en benen in heel mooi gerealiseerd op het natte asfalt. Erg veel te zien hier!

Wel Bert, van mij een compliment, want deze lopers op deze manier fotograferen is een kunst op zich, en met deze scherpte en kleuren palet, wel Bert mijn petje af voor dit werk, wat de lopers zelf betreft, Mohammed Mourhit is in Belgïe een weinig geboycot geweest, tweejaar geleden in Oostende, maar dit is een ander verhaal, het valt al jaren op dat de zwarte lopers zo veel meer hebben dan wij blanke lopers, het voordeel, men kan altijd zien wat ze van achter aanhebben!!!

There sre so many things that I like n this photo, Bert:
Teh colors of their shoes,
the expressions of effort on their faces,
The naman with thesweatshirt behind them and the wet road that reflects their feet. Very well catured.

Hi Bert. Good catch of the pro runners facing the adverse weather conditions but going strong in the group. The rainy pavement adds some nice shadows and reflective effects, and the spectator at the right is well included to border the frame. Well done.

Leuke foto opnieuw! Vooral de uidrukkingen op de gezichten van de renners is mooi om te zien! Alle verschillende kleuren schoenen zijn ook grappig! :-D

Weer een prachtige aktiefoto. Goede info, alleen de eindtijd van deze heren ontbreekt. De foto van Rinie is ook goed, maar zo'n plaatje zou ik eerder op TL posten.

Hi, Bert, your Rotterdam Marathon shots are quite good. It's funny, but the "hares" look a lot more tired than the ones who are going all the way! I like this shot especially because you were able to get all 6 runners with no one's head being even partially hidden. Good work.

Hi Bert, such a dynamic pic! In such a bad and cold weather! Such a determination, too. Very nice and sahrp image. All different expressions.
Great composition, you were on a really good spot.
I like their coloured shoes, and like Stef says, two are completelky detached from the ground.
I like looking at the muscles in their legs.

I like the expression and the intense concentration apparent on the faces of each of the runners. I think it is very powerful.

Nou Bert, dit is een ECHT Rotterdams shot toch ? In jouw stad en de Fortis !
Ik had ook al gedacht, dat je ergens vooraan zou staan:-)) Een geweldige foto (mijn vrouw staat toevallig net achter me en zegt, da's een mooie) met een schitterende actie helemaal bevroren. Ik ben geen sportmens, maar deze foto "doet" het zeker !

Wider but still a good composition. The group is really a group in this shot and seem almost like one unit. I can imagine them moving together, never getting closer or farther from each other than here. The movement also helps that feel with so much action and one even completely off the ground I think. And sharp and clear as always with these nice colors. You capture the rain soaked atmosphere very well and the stress of the runners as a viewer seems to look on with a look of thinking they must be crazy.

Sportfotografie zie je niet zoveel op TE, mooie techniek om je beeld te bevriezen en allen glashelder prachtig natuurlijk gekleurd, leuk om dit heir ook eens te zien, fris moet het wel geweest zijn aan de toeshouwer te zien.
