Photographer's Note
This photo is also taken at the Amsterdam Seaport boatshow. You see te Zest of Belgium and the old Withbread W60 Brunel Sunergy. The Zest had overtake the Brunel. They race here to the last bouy. I take the picture from a RIB on at the North Sea near the IJmuiden harbour. It was sunny with 4 beaufort.
My camera was on auto. The picture is a little bit unsharp, but i want to share this picture because there is a lot of action. On the upper left you can see some water on my lens. I hope you don't mind.

Hi Robbert, great Actionshot :) More colours would have been welcomed, but I guess it was not you to chose the point of view here, so it was almost against the sun. That brought nice play of sun and shadows to the sails :) So it also has its advantage. Composition is good.

Great action shot! I hope those boats have long keels... You really put us in the action with your sailing shots, and they are very good quality.
Well taken.

I think the colors can be a bit more saturated, but otherwise this is another great photo of these lovely boats. There's a lot of action in this pic, and I like your composition.
I tried a workshop, just to see what it would look like with more saturation.

Prachtig schot Robbert. Bravo.

Great action shot Robbert - I would say the right boat was going under - I haven't noticed the fault you mention - good work indeed.

I like the action and the very high tilt of the fist boat, Robbert. The harsh light creates nice effects on the water and through the sails. I like the rows of feet, of those sitting people.

Nice image Robbert. I love the way you placed them in the frame. Very well done.
I guess you saw that breton sailor De Kersauzon left too for the Jules Verne trophy on a trimaran though..

Talk about action wow and from so close, wow! I think it's sharp enough, nothing annoying. But what I find "sharp" is the sails, thay look like big blades cutting into the wind.

You have managed to capture the optimum.
The force the power and the willing to win are the ingredients to compose this great shot.

I must say that your composition and the dynamism drown out the flaws in this shot. I must say also that the flaws are not at all obvious...i would rather say that this is a perfect shot. Another congratulations.

This may be your greatest success yet in capturing the excitement and adrenalin of the moment, Robbert. Very well done. The buildings way back on the horizon, between the two boats, are a fun detail. If you hadn't mentioned the "water" incident I'm not sure I'd even have noticed. Nice work indeed.

Again a wonderful view of sailers in action... I will not hide you that I am for the Zest of Belgium here... :)
Anyway, it is a very nice picture, Robbert!

Great action shot, Robbert! The position of the boat on the right is absolutely stunning. I can really feel the excitement of the people on board of these boats. Cheers!

A great action shot which must have been quite tricky to take. Looks like you had a fun day.

Wow what a fantastic action shot. It's really good that you included the two boats in the shot, it adds a lot to the feeling of racing.

Splendide photo d'action en course. Peut-être un peu trop bleutée mais c'est sans doute à cause de l'heure. Belle prise !
