Photographer's Note

In Northern Italy, heavy showers and also small twisters are not unusual after mid-August, but also Bibione villagers had never seen before such a hailstorm on the beach.
The phenomenon lasted no more than half an hour and immediately the ice-cubes (as big as a walnut) started to melt in contact with the warm sand, so causing the thick freezing fog that you see in the picture.
After ten or twenty minutes also the fog disappeared and the landscape of the beach was back to an usual appearance.

I was lucky to be there in those twenty minutes!
