Winter mood, a photo from Como, Lombardia

Photographer's Note

I love to drive along the roads that run along the borders of como lake. They allow to taste extraordinary landscapes, different at every step. What dislikes me is the crowdy sensation mainly in summer when you have to face heavy traffic of tourists. Yesterday I had the chance to live it in a different way, also landscapes had different light and colors, while just a few cars where around, the small villages were nearly desert and most part of hotels and restaurants was closed. It seemed to have all this spectacle for me and my wife. An incredible sensation I wish you to feel.

Nice blend of darkness and tones of blue. I can not tell the same for the fov, a larger focal length would be better i guess. TFS

Ciao Giorgio,
The towns along the coast of Como are quaint. I remember spending a night in Menaggio when I went up Monte Grona one afternoon. The underexposure and the domination of blue does accentuate the cold winter feeling well. The sky is dramatic. Perhaps the intruding twigs on the right could be cloned out. Regards,

Hi Giorgio.
This one is remarkable for its composition playing with beautiful diagonal curves of the sky and of the mountains. The combination between light and shadows works quite well and give a beautiful atmosphere to the picture. The sky was definitely fantastic!

E ti capisco benissimo, i laghi in questo periodo vivono la loro stagione migliore con giornate terse e panorami mozzafiato...come questo...

Ciao Giorgio,
notevole l'impatto visivo del lago e dei monti a fargli da cornici; molto evicativo dal punto di vista letterario mi piace soprattutto la vista dei paesini che gli si affacciano, regalando armonia e un feeling di serenita'. Dal punto di vista tecnico hai forse chiuso un po' troppo le ombre, cosa che ti ha aiutato a risaltare il cielo ma che purtroppo ha fatto perdere qualche dettaglio sui monti e i paesini. Buon lavoro cmq (posto un ws con le ombre un po' piu' aperte)

Molto bella composizione blu con questo movimento fantastico nel cielo. Si direbbe un proiettore che passa per illuminare il cielo ed i vertici. In fondo le rive del lago sono in un'ombra piena di calma e di serenità. Comprendo la sensazione che avete di considerare dinanzi a questo spettacolo.

well. i must say. your winter-mood is sure different from my winter-mood... it's more like gray skies, rain, sleet and mud here now :)

what you have looks more like a blue hour with background way more pleasing than any city-scape. beautiful sight.
