Portoferraio, a photo from Livorno, Tuscany

Photographer's Note

Portoferraio vista dalle sue mura (Fronte d'Attacco). La "capitale" dell' Elba è stata costruita per volontà del granduca di Toscana Cosimo I a partire dal 1548, tre anni dopo era già imprendibile per i pirati che la assediarono senza successo a più riprese. La città ha la forma di un grande anfiteatro, le mura che separano il promontorio su cui sorge la città dal resto dell'isola sono altissime. Sono state costruite o meglio scolpite sul rilievo preesistente. Nella foto si può vedere Forte Stella, una delle due fortezze che sorvegliavano la città.

Questo panorama è composto da tre fotografie unite assieme. Quello che avevo pubblicato in precedenza (http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Italy/photo189895.htm) era composto da due immagini.

Ciao Roberto, scrivo in inglese spero che ti capisce..
A beautiful panoramic, the joining/stitching of the three fotos is good, although very slightly visible. I would have personally cropped away the people to the left.
But you still have manged to capture the beauty of this wonderful island, and am actually coming here very often myself for scuba diving, as it is just a short ride in the gommone from Salviloi. I have also looked at your other fotos of Elba, I think you are doing a great job for your Island. : )
