The parked cars provide scale. Good sharpness and textural details in the old walls, with superb shadow detail despite the backlighting. Tfs!

Hello Pierre,

This is a massive piece of wall and though incomplete, your details show how well it was constructed. As often happens with old buildings, I suspect that some of the wall has been taken and used in later building projects.
The inclusion of the parked cars gives a sense of scale as well as depth.

Je pense que c'était une des portes d'entrée de la ville, mais l'ouverture a été murée. Alors peut-être pas.
En tout cas, des murs d'une hauteur impressionnante.
Pris avec une bonne maîtrise de la lumière.

These ruins are truly impressive, and we can easily imagine how imposing this wall would have been in the days of its full glory. The inclusion of the cars describe how these magnificent ancient ruins are integrated in the modern city. Light and sharpness are well handled.
