Photographer's Note

I dedicate these two photographs to our good friend, Silvio (Silvio1953) who lives in beautiful Spoleto but has also shown us so many beautiful photographs from nearby Amelia.

I am really surprised that I have never seen a picture of this fascinating shop on TE. Situated in a main street (Via della Repubblica) of Amelia's beautiful old town, "La Bottega del Rigattiere" (The Junk Shop) simply could not be passed by me without taking a photograph. Unfortunately the light was not terribly helpful and, even more sadly, there was no shopkeeper to be seen - it would have been so much better had I been able to have the owner standing proudly outside this magnificent shop. And what wonderful items on display!

I did pass by this shop again two days later. But it was closed. But I did manage to take this workshop photograph through the window. Even more wonderful treasures!.

If you take a look at Map: view you can drag Google's little yellow man down to the marker and take a virtual walk past this splendid place.

ISO 100, 1/80 sec at f/8, focal length 24mm.
