On the way to Colfosco, a photo from Bolzano, Trentino Alto Adige

Photographer's Note

Un agréable chemin relie Corvara à Colfosco (Calfosch en ladin) , sur la pente ensoleillée au pied du Sassongher . Tout y est parfaitement entretenu : prairies , clôtures , maisons , granges ... et les constructions modernes n'ont pas trop enlaidi le paysage .
Ici , en arrivant à Colfosco , avec en toile de fond les formidables murailles du massif du Sella . En cette saison , elles sont pratiquement toujours à l'ombre ; aussi ça n'est pas facile de gérer les contrastes d'éclairage .

En WS , un cadrage un peu différent .

Bonjour Denis,

Some people might say that this is a typical "chocolate box" landscape view - but the people who make such comments are usually other landscape photographers who are simply jealous!

This is a stunningly beautiful landscape view which has everything from a fabulous background of mighty mountains dusted with snow against a beautiful clear blue sky to a bold and interesting foreground of a road and fence leading us perfectly into the scene: while between the two we have a beautiful green meadow, buildings in richly coloured wood, other bright white buildings and a diagonal forest displaying the warm colours of its autumn foliage.

A beautifully composed photograph taken in glorious light with fine rich colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness. And, of course, as you say in your note, you have chosen exactly the right time of day to capture this - it might well have been in deep shade at another time.

light and shadow look fantastic in this photo. The shadows create strong graphic effects and influence the colours but the view is impressively smooth and clear throughout. The arrangement of all the elements, shadow effects and colours is superb, every component is essential and attractive. The light, the colors and the atmosphere are delicious, the viewer can find peace and delight in this scenery. I believe that this composition is more thorough and intriguing than the one in the workshop picture. Congratulations and thank you!

quelle carte postale! tout y est: lumière d'abord, cadrage soigné avec la rambarde pour guide et ensuite couleurs vives de l'automne en bas avec les mélèzes jaunissant pour le début de l'hiver en haut avec les montagnes saupoudrées de neige fraiche, et le petit village aux quelques maisons de bois qui se prépare aux rigueurs hivernales

L'ombre de la clôture fournit un beau premier plan, aussi très graphique, et nous mène bien au village.
La photo est une merveilleuse combinaison d'alpages douces, un charmant village et en arrière une incroyable beauté naturelle. Tout d'abord des bois denses dans de belles couleurs d'automne et les montagnes se levant derrière sont vraiment impressionnantes.
Une composition bien réfléchie et une netteté parfaite.

This is a quite beautiful photograph of this region of Italy. I'm sure you will have inspired others to seek out this area.

I like how you have used the fence and its shadow to guide viewers succinctly into the m/g, where the chalets look detailed and colourful, bathed in sunlight. They are backed by conifers and magnificent, snow-capped mountains. The whole scene is amazing.y eye-catching.

This is flawless. The beauty of the Bolzano is peerless, as is the quality of your photo. The fence line guides the eye further into the frame. The colours are so vivid, yet natural and not over-saturated. Sharpness is like a razor, impeccable. A quality shot...as the Italians say, mozzafiato.

Bonjour Denis,
this is just perfect! I like very much the mountains here, snow covered and set against the blue sky! The colors are so well saturated and natural! At the foothills of the mountains there seem to be still the autumn with typical autumnal tree colors! I like the fence in the foreground which cuts in nicely together with its shadow, you have used it beautifully.
Everything is very well thought through!
Excellent work, it is pleasure to watch it!

Quite an amazing photo composed with a lot of skill to show the blue sky and the mountains and green grass, all nicely layered in one shot. The fence in the foreground and its shadow great nice patterns and complete the image with a frame.

J'aime beaucoup ce cadrage vertical qui donne une sensation de hauteur à ces belles aiguilles enneigées dominant le village. Tu as parfaitement utilisé la barrière et son ombre pour créer une ligne directrice vers le village et la forêt aux teintes d'automne. Lumière un peu forte sur les sommets, ça doit pouvoir se rattraper en post processing.
