Photographer's Note
Corso di Porta Ticinese, particularly in the stretch between the churches of San Lorenzo and Sant'Eustorgio, has many trendy, ethnic-type shops for clothes, furniture etc., and it has also become a focal point for young nightlife. It is close to another characteristic shopping and nightlife area, the Navigli canal district (Ripa di Porta Ticinese, Via Ascanio Sforza). On the Naviglio Grande canal, on the last Sunday of each month, there is a large antiques market with stalls selling everything from postcards to furniture.
This picture was taken yesterday 28.11.2004 at 6.30 a.m.: San Eustorgio is on the right; San Lorenzo at the end of the street.

I ciotoloni caratteristici

A beautiful street picture, particularly because it is this way empty, no people to see, the tram rails gives excellent depth Gae, the lighting is perfect and beautiful, excellent night shot!

ciao, Giorgio

Very beautiful night composition, with a great depth of field, underlined well by the line of lighting to the lower part of the rails.
The exposure is very good and I like the atmosphere, it misses just a human factor to give a little life to this scene.
Good job Gae.

This is a really good one from you Gae.
The best in this is the low angle you took it, making extra depth through the pales in the way, the line are good and the nightshot is a great succes. I like it a lot. This is a very good photo, with my compliments

bellissima foto! umidita', atmosfera, luci notturni e prospettivita' infinita. ;->

One of those well seen and narrative photos, showing how a place looks and feels like, in a different country. This is one lonely street and it looks forboding too. It makes one wonder what's further up on the street. Gae, what does those metal poles on the side of the walkway for?

I really like these early morning photos of yours. They are managed very well in terms of lighting and crispness. The colors turned out great here, too. This low point of view is excellent to allow us to see the textures and reflections of the ground so well. It also gives a nice drawn out pull into the photo. The lights add a nice repetition with the perspective. The quiet streets have been photographed very nicely by you once again.

Very nice night shot, Gae! I'm impressed with the clarity of the road, the metal poles and the buildings in the foreground! Good colors, too! The absence of people in this street at around 6:30am really gives you that 'isolated' feeling. Thanks for sharing with us how a Milan scene looks like! Great work! rgds.

Hey, Gae, this one is so, so cool! It's amazing there is almost no perspective narrowing in this image! Hoses are just straight, unbelievable. Also, the lighting is fabulous here. I just can't stop wowing over this pic! I'm planning on a trip to Italy but it seems it won't be real until maybe September... Last time I was in Italy some 10 years ago and I miss it so much!
