Photographer's Note

Dedicated to my friend Lisa ( delpeoples)

La casa del Bel Cortile
The plant currently visible dates from the middle of the century. AD, but the previous phase will keep the wall decorations in 'Style II' and into an environment in East of tablinum.
The plan of the building is rather unusual: the lobby is replaced by a mosaic courtyard, which serves as a disengagement for the rooms that overlook it and where s'imposta a scale, with a gallery painted decorative trim, which leads to the second floor.
The restructuring, perhaps related to a change of function of the building (perhaps the site of a college), involved among other things, the creation of new mosaic floors in tablinum and in the adjacent, which was also repainted in 'Style III' .
On the wall of the large hall, probably used for meals collective, are placed two neoattici marble reliefs representing the Aurora and the Sunset, found in fragments along the cardo V.
