Peaceful Jetty, a photo from Verona, Veneto

Photographer's Note

A photo of one of many jetties along the shore of Lake Garda, this one was near where I was staying in Peschiera, the Southern-most point of the lake.
Conditions: Calm, sunny, early evening. Tripod.
Cokin P123 Blue grad filter used.

central jetty takes the eye straight to the skyscape without any side issues..
good graphic and abstract material here..did a workshop on it to see what could be done.
i also visited lake garda and found it full of photo opportunites as well..did you get to see the iceman.?

Very nice composition. Very good guiding idea. The detail of the two people at the dock add to the composition.

So often you see this type of shot in a very dramatic way with fiery sunsets but this works so well with the pastel shades in the sky and mountain and the soft pine tones of the Jetty. The figure sitting on the end breaks up the perfect symetry just enough to make it interesting without jarring.

Hello Andy, beautiful composition as the eye takes you far out to the distance. I like the calmness of that place and especially the boat in the distance (but then I like sailing:) the only thing is that after looking at the workshop, I personally prefer the stronger colours (but it's a matter of personal taste of course).

You know how much I like this photo! :) The colors are great and the depth is amazing. Very well composed and very well exposed. Now frame it and hang it in your bathroom! ;)
