Photographer's Note
While casually enjoying a vaporetto ride along the Grande Canal I passed by this classic Venetian setting. As the Eiffel Tower instantly brings to mind the city of Paris, so does the gondola for Venice…an unmistakable icon of this city on the water.
It wasn’t my intention to try and capture the passengers as it was to the overall scene, however, I believe these ladies added a lot of character to the moment. They saw me trying to photograph the gondolier and didn’t hesitate at all to “pose” for the camera.
Needless to say, they were having a great time and helped create a lasting memory for me as well. Thanks ladies!

Hi Jason,
This is a very good and pleasantly composed picture. The gondola and the oar are providing nice diagonls and the background cityscape is very attractive. All persons on the boat, especially the gondoniere, are adding life and action!
Kind regards

Bonsoir Jason,
C'est en effet une belle scène et tous ces sourires sont bien agréables. Belle luminosité, et les couleurs sont vives et belles pour une photo de 10 ans. Elle semble avoir été prise l'été dernier.

You had great smiles when those girls saw you and the camera, Jason, added a fine joy to the scene.
Typical Venezia, taken with bright daylight, on mid-summer. Notwithstanding the beauty of the place - in mid-August humidity is an awful factor over there( we were there in 8/2001, 85% humidity, edured).
Have a nice sunday.

Hi Jason,
A very iconic photo, but like you say, the posing ladies add a really nice element of fun to the shot, they are great faces that they are pulling.
I only learned recently that all the gondolas here are black too, interesting.
The buildings in the background are class, and the red ribbon on the gondolier makes a great splash of vibrancy.
Nicely seen, and perfect timing.
Cheers

Hi my friend Jason
Kiss for you :-)
