Castello di Vallo di Nera (PG)

A splendid castle that dominates the Valnerina, among its narrow streets it is still today enveloped by the magic of the Middle Ages.
The urban layout is compact, with the typical structure of the castle of the hill: from the original nucleus built around the square of San Giovanni Battista, at the highest point of the hill, flat and steep ascending annular roads extend. The first fortified village was then joined by the fifteenth-century village of Santa Maria, included in the second circle of walls, built to include monastic settlements, and the later sixteenth-century village of the Casali, built during the period of maximum population expansion, along the road network. access to the Castle.TO FIND OUT MORE: CASTELLO DI VALLO DI NERA
