The fortress of Arco
'Arco' is famous for the mild climate, the luxuriant Mediterranean vegetation, but above all for its reputation of "natural clinical". Its parks and garden with the villas style liberty and the palaces of the Renaissance stir with its kitchen and wines, ideal mix for who loves pastime and relax. Various the hypotheses on the name of 'Arco', perhaps deriving from the Latin "arx" (= rock) or "arcus" (= circle) or from the Gothic "arch" (= fortress). The zone sure was inhabited from the epoch of the discovery of the metals. The "Rocca di Arco" was probably a will of the Gothics king Teodorico. In the XII century the town was occupied from Getlteman Bavarians who obtained from the bishop of Trento (Altemanno) the investiture upon the "fief of Arco" with the title of Counts. Arc endured the several dominations of Scaligeri, Visconti and Venice, in order to pass to the prince of Tirolo and to the Asburgo. To the end of the first world war it was assigned to the Reign of Italy. Between the others Arco has given the birth to the painter Giovanni Segantini (* 1858).

Fascinating view Giorgio! So many verticals which work so well together! I would zoom in a little closer to show some more of the details on the top, but it's also very beautiful as is.

Mmmmm... Ritengo già migliore!

It's great . and the long trees ( cypres ? ) give a touch of Tuscany to the rock

A fine POV and a good light. I like the composition with the large triangle shape and the slope running almost corner to corner. A slight tilt should be corrected though.
